Job Functions and Responsibilities:
The Technical Writer must be able to write in clear and concise language technical documents, procedure manuals, service manuals, and related technical publications covering a myriad of subjects. Includes writing technical documentation as operational specifications, bulletins, articles, and marketing publications. Hands-on experience with business development activities and proposal development is considered a major plus.
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
Understand the software development life-cycle
Experience with requirements gathering and developing design documents
Develop test plan and test cases
Experience in developing requirements traceability matrix (RTM)
Use teamwork, communication, and time management skills while multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Prepare special and recurring reports as required
Prepare document templates for authors to use in document preparation
Perform technical editing and quality control of documents written by other authors
Ensure documents are prepared or finalized in accordance with Section 508 compliance requirements
Troubleshoot and correct documents for 508 compliance
Keep accurate and logically organized meeting minutes
Maintain and develop training materials
Prior history writing/supporting technical proposals, using industry standards
Understand the technical proposal development life-cycle
Ability to speak to technologies and technical approaches being used
Other duties may be assigned

Required Skills/Qualifications
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing and/or proposal writing
Proven problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative
Strong organizational and team communication habits
Must possess or be able to obtain a federal-level security clearance
Must have good communications skills, both oral and written
Expert in the Microsoft Office Suite
Must be fluent in English
Must be capable of exercising independent judgment in resolving problems in a timely manner
Prior experience in a fast-paced office environment
Extremely detail-oriented, precise, organized, and able to work independently and manage/prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to articulate complex technical ideas into simple, laymen’s terms
508 compliance experience
Must be punctual and professional in all aspects of job performance
